Netflix on PS3 update

Well I received my disk last week as anticipated. There have been some reports about lag and buffering. In my opinion you are loading a lot of information from a disc, a Blueray disc to be exact and it’s going to take some time to load the interface as well as download your queue and all the associated images. give it time, it’s really not bad at all and as far as the buffering goes.. It’s happened only a few times and my internet connection is less than ideal.

Your mileage may vary.. For now I’m loving it because I can move my Roku box to another room and use the PS3 solution where I was using the Roku. Hopefully Sony will deliver the XMB update sooner than expected.

Netflix coming to the PS3. No, really.....

Sony have announced on Sunday that they  "have partnered to bring you thousands of movies and TV episodes streamed instantly from Netflix to your TV via your PS3 system at no extra charge. When the application launches next month, you’ll be able to access and watch thousands of Netflix choices directly through the XMB. We think that the nearly nine million PS3 enthusiasts and 11.1 million Netflix members in the U.S. will make quite a match.

If you want to get a head start on your PS3 Netflix experience, you can sign up today athttp://www.netflix.com/ps3."

Although you will need to obtain a disk, Sony promises to have the service built into the XMB late next year.
